When the author was diagnosed with viral induced heart failure she was urged to chronicle the ups and downs of the medical journey that followed. However, she had no idea she was about to embark on a parallel journey with God that would lead to inner healing. This is her remarkable story simply and honestly told. It is a story that touches everyone she tells it to and one about God that we all need to be reminded of. Hopefully this little book will bless you and encourage you to believe how much you are loved.
Author Biography
Irene Oakes earned a BScN degree from UofT and worked mainly in Community Health. Now retired, she lives on Vancouver Island with her husband Ken. They have two grown children and four grandsons. This is her first book, but to entertain her grandsons, she has also written several children’s stories based on her own childhood adventures.

Irene, I so enjoyed reading your book; I felt I was right there in the hospital waiting to be seen, or resting on your sofa to get my breath, or holidaying with Ken when you were recuperating. God was with you all along and that was evident in your story. Your hesitation to have the implant was also sooooo real.

I really enjoyed the book… You did a wonderful job… I also believe it will be a book to touch many people… Maybe even make them realize that we are nothing without God!… It is hard to give up our control, and be vulnerable to let God work in us. As Mother’s and Nurses we have been taught that to do otherwise, is not an option for us!… Thank you for bringing your feelings and honesty about you and your relationship with your daughter… I still need some healing in my relationship with my girls because of past hurts.
