PETER LODGE, a quiet, retired gentleman in his 80’s has been vacationing in his homeland of England and is returning to Canada via New York City where he hopes to see friends and some Broadway shows before oncarrying to his home in Victoria B.C. where he has lived for more than 20 years.
He is on stand-by for a British Airways flight to J.F. Kennedy Airport New York and is delighted when told there is a seat for him on board the aircraft. This all sounds perfectly simple, yes? Wrong! What happens, will change his life.

Author Biography

John as born in Liverpool, England and educated at Quarry Bank Grammar School, and at the famed Liverpool College of Art. John Lennon followed him at both schools several years later. John has circled the globe twice, driven a Cooper Climax racing car at the famous Brand’s Hatch racing circuit and has swam across the Suez Canal. He has been married twice and now makes his home in Victoria, B.C., Canada, to where he emigrated in 1973. His biography appears in “Who’s Who in the Theatre, Contemporary Stage, Film and Television” circa 1983.
In his career in the Arts, John Swindells has played leading stage roles on the London stage and in regional U.K. theatres, Toronto stage and regional Canadian theatres also on the New York stage and a regional U.S. theatre.
Additionally, he taped 65 episodes of the iconic BBC Television series “Z.Cars” as Sgt Ted Bowman from 1970-1973. In Canada for CBC Television he played for three seasons in their police series “Side Street”, as Inspector Ted Bowman, same character, different rank, different time, different country from 1977-1980. He also played the role of artist J.E.H. McDonald in the CBC’s beautiful production of “The Passionate Canadians” all about the famous “Group of Seven.”
In the USA, he guest starred in an episode of the late Burt Reynolds series “B.L. Stryker”.
He also played the role of First Technician in an international cast for Stanley Kubrick in the famous film “2001 A Space Odyssey”.
